Copy Cats Will Crumble

By now we are all getting tired of the big guns Coles and Woolworths battling it out for our hard earned dollars. The thing that frustrates me the most is even though these major companies have a distinctly recognisable brand, neither one of them are using this to their advantage. They both are too consumed in competing and copying from one another, it has allowed an underdog to change things up.

Deep down the majority of us are always looking for that next hot ticket item for a great price. I walked into Aldi to quickly pick up some sardines (not for me, for my pugs), and what was meant to be a duck in duck out approach landed me there for another 40mins! Being the bargin shopper that I am, I found myself perusing there hot ticket items down the middle of the shop. How sneaky are they! I recently discovered that the Aldi catalogue is the most successful out of the leading supermarkets including Coles and Woolworths. Why? Because they offer something different. Aldi obviously know that Australians always love a great deal, so they are consistently delivering great prices on homeware items and other random things. Sorry, I'v rambled (again); but the key point to take out of this is Aldi could never compete with Coles or Woolworths with their products, so they created something to draw in the customers that neither of the big guns offer. Aldi have never tried to compete big, they just played a different game.

Aldi have also just released that they will be changing the way they layout and stock their stores to target the everyday shopper. So whilst the big players are having their petty price war, Aldi are taking the time in understanding their market and being bold enough to offer them exactly what they have been looking for.
