Negativity In A Changing Industry
Things are changing so rapidly that it is becoming harder to keep up with it all. As technology advances so does the way we do business. We can no longer do what we did 10 years ago and expect the same results. So why is there still so much negativity towards change?
Over my time as a brand strategist, I have networked with many people from different generations of business ownership. Everyone has a different way of running a business, that’s a given but one thing that never changes is that those that want to grow and succeed need to embrace the changes in the industry.
Some take to change willingly, knowing the advantages of keeping up with current trends. Others are more hesitant, stuck in the ways that have worked for their business in the past. The problem is the past is, well, the past and eventually we need to look to the future if we are to grow. Those businesses that are content as they are will find that they will be reliant on current clients and word of mouth. This is fine if you have no intention of growing the business but one should not be mistaken in thinking the old ways of running a business can get the same growth and results as they once could.
Don’t feel like I’m trying to tell you how to run your business, that is not my intention but enough with the negativity. It’s time we started embracing change and no matter what business we run, finding ways of incorporating the latest technology and trends to help take our businesses not only into the present but looking forward into the future.
